Yearbook Summative!

1. What do you like most about your designs? (Four sentences)

What I like most about my yearbook pages is, the old textured paper, I feel that it brings that old time feeling to my yearbook. What I also liked about my yearbook is the brushes that I added to each page, that ink splatters, and the coffee stains really bring the texture out. As well the font of each page, although I should have keep the font all the same, but I decided to do different fonts for each page, which I thought turned out pretty good.

2. What do you think could be improved about your designs? (Four sentences)

What I think could be improved about my design is that, I could have stuck with one font, it would have made it easier. I could have also photoshoped my pictures better like erase them with more detail. I think also I should have spent more time on the general layout of my yearbook, and picking out better frames for the second page, so that it matched that old time feel.

3. What do you think makes your designs unique and competitive to be selected for the real yearbook design? (Four sentences)

What I think makes my designs unique and competitive to be selected for the real yearbook is that, I personally have never seen a renaissance looking type of yearbook, and I think that it would be interesting to see, obviously in more detail than my yearbook. I think that it would be very different, creative, and unique to look at.

Yearbook Brainstorming!

The theme of my Yearbook is, art from all over the world. I am going to gather artwork from the renaissance, baroque, Chagall, and some other different forms of art like grafitti. I chose this theme because, I am always facinated in different art from all over the world, I like different and unique pieces. That's why I thought that this would be a great idea for a yearbook because, each individual student is creative in their own way, and everyone has a little something to show the world; and it's like art each artist is different, and imaginative in their own way, and that's what seperates them from other artists.

Barbara Kruger Assignment

1. What do you see in this piece of art (describe it)?

In this piece of art I see, spots of creativity in a boring society, when the building is poping out of the crowd, to me I see creativity coming out, and we should encourage different people to come out, and change society. It's the different people that shape the future.

2. What kind of message did you try to give in this piece of art?

The kind of message that I am trying to give in thgis piece of art is that creativity is the key to a brighter world, when I said "Demand red in a black & white world" It means that people need to stand up and demand change, we will not change anything for the future if we don't fight for it.

3. Do you like or dislike this piece of art?  Why?

In my personally opinion like this piece of art because, it's original, creativity, and inspiring. I also like the message that goes with this piece of art. I find it to be true, inspiring, and motivating because, we have to stand up and fight for a better and more creativity world.

Barbara Kruger Critique

1) What do you see in this piece of art (describe it)?

What I see in this image with the message "You destroy what you think is different." I see hate, and people that are disgusted of being different, these two people look at it like it's a horrible crime, in my personal opinion. Society has a very plain mind, only on one road, and these people represent society, and their view of the world is probably just money. That is why we would encourage the people that are different, because they are the one's that change the world.

2) What kind of message is the artist giving in this piece of art?
I think that the message the artisit is giving is that society is telling us that being different is bad, and that you can't be creative. What I also see in the piece is the two people represent society, and they appear to me that they are looking down at the people who are different, meaning that it is bad to be different. I don't believe this, I believe that the people who are different are the one's who shape society.

Do you like or dislike Kruger’s work? Why?

I personally really enjoy Barbara Kruger's work because, she has a lot of powerful messages in her work. She really inspires people with her words. What I aslo like about Barbara Kruger is her style, I like the old pictures, tied in with splashes of red making it, a picture to take serious thought into. I think that she wants you to take your time to look at ther work, and really understand the words with the picture, and what she is trying to tell you.

Halloween Town Reflection

1. What did you like most about your game?

What I liked most about my game, is how creative it is, it's kind of depressing colours, I also liked the pumpkin sun in the second ground level, and I like the third ground level the most because, i like the curly mountain, and jack with sally on top of the mountain.

2. What did you like least about your redesigned game?

What I liked least about my game is that the paint job was horrible in my opinion, I thought that i could have spent more time in designing this game, and payed more attention to detail.

3. Why is your version better then the original?

I think that my version of the Moonlander game is better because, the original is sort of plain, it's not eye catching, I think that mine not be the best, but in my opinion it's definately better, mine has more colour, more objects, and an amount of detail.

Moonlander Re-design Brainstorming

My brainsotrning idea for my vision of the moonlander game is a Halloween Town theme, from The Nightmare Before Christmas.I chose this theme because, I really like The Nightmare Before Christmas movie, it's one of my favourites, and I thought that the Halloween Town would be a great idea. What I am planning on doing with this re-design idea, is having the Halloween gates in the background, and having crazy houses in the first ground level, then for the second ground level I was going to have a Christmas Town idea, and then for the last ground level, I am going to have the famous curly mountain with sally and Jack together with the moon behind it.

Picture Text #1

Picture Text #2

Picture Text #3

1) What I liked most (overall for all three)?
What I liked most about all three of my pictures are the erasers, and brushes in them. I love how in the second text picture, the cherry blossom, and the petals have a flying affect. I also like the paint splatters in the first text picture. In the third text picture, I like the filter that is on it, with the two colours purple, and blue.

2) What can be improved (overall for all three)?
What I think that can be improved in these three pictures is, maybe adding some more colour to the first and second text pictures. I also think that I could have also been more creative, as to where to put my words in the picture.

3) Which specific picture was most successful of all three?
The picture that I think was most successful in my opinion, was the first picture because, I find that everything flows together, the wording goes with it, it’s not tacky, and congested, everything just works.
